Lipgloss | Friday Favorites

Happy Friday once more and happy national coffee day! I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. I can't believe October is literally right around the corner. It seriously feels like this year is going by faster than usual.

But anywho, today's Friday Favorites is featuring my favorite lip glosses! I have a few different options to tell you all about that I absolutely love. But can I first say just saying the word lipgloss reminds me of the song Lip Gloss by Lil' Mama... Anyone else? Lol, I briefly remember that song and then I get it stuck in my head because it's so catchy.

"My lip gloosss." (If ya'll don't know the song, see the video here.)

So, because I'm snobby and like expensive things, I absolutely love the Dior 'Addict' Ultra-Gloss in the color 363 "Nude" which was recently changed from 363 "Dormeuse" (please also don't confuse this with the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer). I had been on a hunt for a good lip gloss that weren't tacky-feeling on the lips. I some read the reviews on Sephora and decided to pick it up the next time I went in. I was so excited, I got to my car, put it on and fell. in. love.

It gave me the perfect, sweet, and innocent-looking pinky tint I had never known I needed until then. It's a little bit higher in price range for sure, currently sitting right at $30 USD, but it is totally worth it! They have a nice range of colors - plenty enough that I honestly think anyone could find a shade that would work with their skin tone. Just keep in mind that this is a gloss, it is not a lipstick, nor a lip stain. The colors simply give off a glossy tint, but the formula is very, very smooth, feels incredibly moisturizing to the lips, and also, there's no noticeable scent.

Now, as I was talking to Mark about this blog post yesterday, he convinced me to add a few honorable mentions because I really want to make sure I'm offering all of you my best and affordable recommendations for all things - whatever the category may be. That being said, it doesn't mean that I like or use certain brands more or less than any others I recommend, it simply means that there might be a more affordable alternative. Also, if - for whatever the case may be - I do use certain brands more over others (that I've recommended), I will explain as to why or in what situations they do or do not work the same. Any and all "affordable alternative" recommendations will be made with strong consideration of comparison in quality and/or effectiveness.

So here are my 2 favorite runner ups in no particular order!

Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss - this one is so, so, SO amazing. They are super moisturizing, I've resorted to using this as a lip balm whenever I can't find my Carmex chapstick. I own a couple of colors already and they are incredibly pigmented for what they're called (gloss). Online they only show a few, but go to a Fred Meyer or the actual Ulta store and they have so many to choose from. The best part is, they are literally dirt cheap - they vary from $1.29 to $2.49 USD!

NYX Butter Gloss - I can't tell you how many of these I've owned... And this one probably doesn't come to a surprise to a lot of you, I know this is a popular one! These a really affordable as well - you can usually find them on sale for 4 or 5 dollars. These are truly so buttery. I wouldn't say they're moisturizing but they feel really nice on the lips and they're pretty pigmented... However, I do find that they have a lot of very similar colors so pick and choose wisely but, you really can't go wrong with any of them.

Alright, so I hope you all enjoyed this Friday Favorites! Sorry that it went up a little later today, I've been so busy! And also, sorry it's a little longer than I thought it was going to be but I'm so happy I added my alternatives. Please let me know in the comments if you decided to try any of the three - OR - if you have any other recommendations for moi! Thanks so much. - Kaylee 💋
