MY FIRST DESIGNER HANDBAG

Bellagio Louis Vuitton - Las Vegas, Nevada
(purse is not pictured here)
Yes! I finally just pulled the trigger and purchased the Louis I've had on my mind for the past 2 and a half years. And today - it's officially been a month since I got it!

I've had my eye on a couple of pieces by Louis Vuitton for the past couple of years but I never really knew which one for sure and I didn't want to walk into any stores without having the money to actually purchase something.

My first two choices (at the time) were the most popular two, of course, the Neverfull MM or the Speedy Bandouliere 30, both in the Damier Ebene print. Then after about a year or so, I kept seeing the Pochette Metis in the Monogram and I loved it. So then my two top picks became the Speedy Bandouliere 30 in the Damier Ebene and the Pochette Metis in the Monogram. I was keeping my eye on the Pochette Metis for a while but after it hitting Instagram and Pinterest like crazy - it quickly sold out online. I was planning to call the service number but I told myself that if it was meant to be, that I would (probably) get it.

On our 5th day of vacation, after we had some time to explore Vegas and spend time with his family, Mark finally took me shopping. And I wasn't in a huge rush and I actually didn't have super high expectations - because I was expecting that the Pochette Metis would be sold out. I went to the Louis Vuitton store in the Bellagio and this lovely sales associate Eliza, attended me.

As I said, I originally wasn't going in there to get a purse, I actually had my mind set on the 6 key-holder in the Monogram with the Rose Ballerine and possibly one of the Sarah wallets. Since this was going to be my first piece I figured I would just get something small and less expensive, but enough to get me started.

Thankfully, she was more than happy to pull out several pieces at a time in several different colors and patterns for me to pick from. At one point I swear she had 7 pieces laid out on the table in front of me and she wasn't pushy at all! She listened and shared little back stories, she was just so sweet and I think that's really what gave me the confidence to even ask about the Pochette Metis. Because, believe me, if she had been rude even a little bit I would've walked out of the store and probably would've just tried to order online. (If you're ever in Vegas, definitely stop by the Louis in the Bellagio, I absolutely recommend her!)

She had said she was almost sure that they were sold out at the store (because they had been a few days prior) but that she would double check because at this particular Louis Vuitton (in the Bellagio), they get priority over most of the other stores when it comes to restocking because of the foot traffic that they get all the time as Vegas is very touristy. And sure enough, she came out with it in her hand, all wrapped up in the dust bag. I absolutely fell in love with it the moment she took it out.

And since I knew the moment I tried it on that I had to have it, I did ask if she had the Speedy 30 Bandouliere in the Damier Ebene just so I could compare them. But it was a huge fail for me... I did end up trying it on but it just didn't sit right on me, it felt very bulky and I just didn't love it as much as I thought I was going to. Perhaps I should've tried on the 25 Bandouliere... But anyways, I ended up purchasing the Pochette Metis!

I'm so so in love with this purse, I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of it - I can fit so much in it! It looks great with everything despite the monogram pattern, which I actually wasn't a super huge fan of at first. I contemplated getting the 6 key-holder in the Monogram Rose Ballerine as well but decided against it as I was already spending a whole lot more than I had originally planned to. (And now I completely regret not getting it...)

Either way though, I am genuinely so so happy with my purchase and so so blessed and thankful to have such an amazing fiance that is totally okay with my expensive taste (lol)!

Now, I do have a few things I'm using to help take care of the vachetta leather on my handbag! As you know, I do live in Washington so we get quite a bit of rain here so I will be using the Apple Garde Rain and Stain Water Repellent to keep water spots away. And the Water Wipes to not only help keep the vachetta nice and clean but also even out the patina. If anyone would like, I would be more than happy to make a separate blog post specifically on just how to care for the vachetta!

I'd like to thank all of you for being so patient on my Wednesday posts - I'm currently in the process of moving, so things are a little hectic! What was your first Louis piece? Or your favorite? Let me know in the comments, I don't know what piece to get next!! - Kaylee 💋
