SURPRISE! Mark and I moved! And I'm writing today's blog post from the comfort of my new apartment. We're still in Washington so don't get too excited, but we are so glad to be in a new place!

This is officially our 3rd move together, and we're at an apartment complex that we've been trying to get into for a couple years now. Before they've always been fully occupied and the few times that our lease has come up, they never had anything available so, finally - it's our time!
It is rather smaller than what we're accustomed to but I've started listening to the audiobook of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and I am ready to simplify my life and get rid of a lot of unnecessary junk. I'll be the first to admit that my mom is a little bit of a hoarder and that it's just something I've grown up with and I'm trying really hard to break the habit!

I have gotten rid of quite a few things already so I feel like our home is pretty empty. However, I know I'm nowhere near close to being done which is totally okay... It is a process so it will take time. But with this newfound knowledge, I will be redecorating our home without overdoing it.

Right now, on the shopping list, I have a new kitchen table, a new dresser, a mirror, a rug, side tables for the living room... So much, I almost feel like I'm starting all over again. But I have many blog posts coming featuring any and all new pieces I acquire as well as how I decorate them!

Also, we never got a vacuum cleaner when we first moved out, we always just borrowed one from either my mom or Mark's mom... So I did order a Shark vacuum cleaner off of QVC and I'm super excited to start using it! My friend has the exact same one and she has 2 German Shepherds and she loves it. First order of business for that will probably be my car though - it has been terribly neglected... But also we do plan on adopting animals sometime in the near future so our vacuum will definitely be coming in handy.

At the moment we're actually looking to adopt a kitten! I looked at adopting an older cat from our local rescue but none of them seem to really fit our family and the lifestyle we're eventually going to have... So we're really wanting to adopt a kitten so that it can grow with us and so that I can train it. I'm super excited but also really nervous because I've never owned a cat before!

Anyways, I'm so happy to be able to share this little life event with all of you. And I'm so excited that our little family is growing - I will be posting about whatever pet we decide to get so look out for that! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week. If you have any tips for owning a cat please comment it down below! Thanks so much. - Kaylee 💋
